Dr. Janet Horenstein was born in Los Angeles and raised in Southern California  She attended Grossmont High School and the University of California, San Diego where she received a Bachelor of Science.  Before deciding on medical school, Dr. Horenstein worked on biochemistry research at her alma mater.  In 1974, she moved to Guadalajara to attend medical school at the Universidad Autonoma where she discovered a passion for obstetrics and gynecology.  After returning to the United States, she did her OBGYN residency training at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles.  It was there that she developed an interest in high risk obstetrics (perinatology) and decided to continue with a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at LA County/USC.  Dr. Horenstein has a true passion for ultrasound and fetal evaluation.  During her fellowship and as an Associate Professor, she had numerous publications related to ultrasound and fetal diagnosis.  Since leaving LAC/USC she has been in practice in the Los Angeles area performing consultative ultrasound and fetal procedures.  We proudly welcomed her to our practice in January 2011.

Dr. Horenstein is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal fetal medicine and is an active member of several medical associations associated with high risk obstetrics and ultrasound.  She is an avid traveler, visiting every continent except Antarctica.

She has one son in college actively pursuing a career in sports broadcasting.
